Abstract: In the article the task of scheduling is considered as the process of distribution of a finite set of events in time with observance of restrictions. The article is devoted to the description of the mathematical model of the process of automated scheduling in the educational system of the university, as well as the development of a software system based on it. It is shown that the formation of a schedule of classes and examinations in a university with a large contingent of students and a multitude of disciplines of various curricula, with all requirements and constraints taken into account, is a complex and complex task. The paper describes the step-by-step process of forming the exam schedule. The quality of the formed schedules of classes and examinations influences the effectiveness of the educational process of the university.
