Abstract: The article presents the results of studying the characteristics of high-density cast explosive compositions (EC) with high-energy
metal additives (aluminum, magnesium, beryllium), which are of increased interest for the practical use since they have a high heat
of explosion and a high performance. Design and trial thermochemical and energy characteristics of EC with high-energy additives
are presented. EC with aluminum additives have the best performance. The optimum aluminum content is around 30%. Variants of
high-explosive EC of increased efficiency are proposed.
