STUDY OF EXPLOSIVE COMPOSITIONS OCTOGEN ‒ DERIVATIVES OF NITROTRIAZOLE

Abstract: The safety of military munitions requires reducing the risk of accidental explosion, including by reducing mechanical sensitivity. This task for the injection of explosives is to replace trotyl. It is necessary to use less sensitive than trotyl explosives. In this paper, it is proposed to use nitroimidazole derivatives with low sensitivity to mechanical stress and acceptable technological properties as substitutes. The results of practical and numerical studies of the properties of casting explosives containing oktogen, trotyl, 1-methyl-3-nitro1,2,4-triazole, tert-butyl-3-nitro-1,2,4-triazole and ethoxymethyl-3-nitro-1,2,4-triazole are presented. The advantage of using 1methyl-3-nitro-1,2,4-triazole instead of trotyl in «octol»-type compounds was experimentally proved. A comparative analysis of the energy characteristics of the compositions of octogen – nitrotriazole derivatives is presented.
