Abstract: The article reveals the essence of the process of punching round holes with a hand tool in a sheet paronite, its influence on the quality of the surface layer is determined, and ways of increasing its efficiency are suggested. The purpose of the work is to identify the conditions and indicators under which the high quality of the surfaces of the paronite parts obtained by punching will be ensured. As the main factors affecting the processing process, we consider: the initial diameter of the cutting tool, the width of the walls between the punched holes, the number of simultaneously pierced sheets of paronite. The article considers the method of determining the influence of various factors on the final quality index - a complete multifactor experiment was conducted with a detailed step-bystep description. The most detailed consideration is given to three factors: the diameter of the cutting tool, the width of the walls between the punched holes and the number of simultaneously pierced sheets, their influence on the diameter of the pierced hole is determined. The result of the experiment is the equation of regression analysis on two scales: in the normalized one, in order to evaluate the effect of factors in the numerical equivalent on the final quality score, and in natural, so that the diameter of the pierced hole can be calculated for any factor values within the factor levels. The application of the technique makes it possible to evaluate the effect of factors on the output value, which makes it possible to choose the treatment regimes favorable for the surface layer. The results of measurements of the diameters of punched holes are presented and analyzed for different values of the factor levels in order to achieve the best quality of surface quality.
