Abstract: Now the quality of PVC is very high. From the properties of the polymer largely depend, the processability of the compositions during processing, as well as the characteristics of the materials and products derived from it. The article presents options for improving the technology of the polymerization process, in order to improve the quality and target properties of the commodity polymer with a reduction in its cost, which is in line with the principles of lean manufacturing. The best engineering solution is the use of an integrated dispersing system that includes a protective colloid consisting of a combination of polyvinyl alcohols partially hydrolyzed by 69.0-73.5% and 78-82% and a stearic acid calcium stearate additive that is introduced in place of methylpropylcellulose. Calcium stearate is an acceptor of hydrogen chloride and a pH regulator of the medium replacing sodium bicarbonate. At the same time, the number of components ensuring the aggregative stability of the polymerization mixture and the number of capacitive apparatuses (from 4 to 2) are reduced, for the preparation of aqueous solutions of sodium bicarbonate and methylpropylcellulose. Obtained PVC possesses increased thermal stability and a mass of plasticizer absorption. Optimization of the formulation of the polymerization process makes it possible to increase the yield of the polymer, by eliminating losses during the sieving operation.
