Abstract: The reasons for the oscillation of the enzymatic activity of lysozyme when 5-methylresorcine is added to the solution are revealed: on the one hand, 5-methylresorcine alters the activation energy of the decay of interatomic bonds in the substrate, and on the other hand, it plasticizes. It was shown that the biological maximum of lysozyme activity is 1.34 times less than the chemical one. The corresponding concentration of 5-methylresorcine is 34 mg/l. The obtained results can be used to analyze the contribution of homologues of alkylresorcinins in medicine and biotechnology.
