THE PROBLEM OF THE PRACTICAL IMPLEMENTATION OF ULTRASONIC METERING FOR STUDYING THE ROUGHNESS OF THE INTERNAL SURFACE OF PIPELINES

Abstract: Ultrasound measurement is currently used as the main method of flaw detection, as well as to identify the characteristics of the environment and materials. This article solves the problem of practical proof of the effectiveness of the ultrasound method in relation to the registration of pipeline defects, the results of which represent a representative picture of the state of the pipeline with a high degree of resolution as applied to a specific object, and also provides recommendations for the implementation of the method through innovative proposals for the design of the device. and the development of measurement instructions, which is the novelty of this study. The research methodology is an integrated approach, including the theoretical substantiation of the problematic and the practical application of the obtained developments. Based on the results of the study, it concludes that the most important advantage of ultrasound measurement is the complete absence of reference to the shape of the object, and moreover, ultrasound measurement can be used directly on working objects, that is, it does not require a significant amount of preparatory work up to measures for dismantling the structures under study. For existing pipelines, independent dismantling is impossible for a number of reasons, and diagnostic examination is included in the mandatory list of works carried out at the facility, since the absence of such control can lead to an emergency and a complete stop of work. The method of ultrasound measurement in fixing defects of the object under study and determining their shape and size has significant prospects, both from a scientific and practical point of view. In the course of the study, a functioning model of the device was obtained, which proved its effectiveness, and in addition, the processing of the results can be carried out using standard methods of method verification, which means that this device can be recognized at the level of industrial instruments, which makes its results legitimate in operation. with real objects.
