Abstract: The paper considers the principles of forming a three-dimensional configuration of magnetic and electric fields for high-power pulse transformers without the use of ferromagnetic cores. For the formation of magnetic fields, it is proposed to use conductive shells with a thickness greater than the skin layer. Such shells, called skin screens, align the magnetic field and flow along the secondary winding, allow the electric and magnetic fields to be formed separately in the transformer volume, increase the coupling coefficient between the windings, and allow the magnetic and electric fields to be matched in such a way that there is no charge on the turns of the high-voltage secondary winding. This prevents inter-turn breakdowns, increases the efficiency of devices (transformers) and makes them compact.
